Annotations is not included in the standard Redactor package. It ships as part of the Editorial Suite — purchase the suite on the pricing page (with Redactor, or later from your account), then download the package and enable the annotation plugin.
Annotations bring editorial suggestions into the text itself. Instead of a comment in the margin that says “rephrase this,” the phrase is highlighted in place. The author clicks it, sees alternatives, and applies one — or ignores the suggestion and moves on.
That makes wording feedback feel immediate and visual. It pairs especially well with the AI Assistant Better wording action, which can populate annotations from the model.

Main features#
Inline highlights. Marked phrases sit in the sentence as wording blocks, so suggestions stay visible while reading.
Callout with alternatives. Open a highlight to see replacement options. Apply one choice, ignore that suggestion, or ignore all of the same kind.
With or without AI. Seed annotations from your CMS or a custom pipeline, or let the AI Assistant fill them after a Better wording run.
When it helps#
Use Annotations when feedback should target exact words — not only a whole block. Typical cases: product copy, newsroom editing, localization prep, or any pass where the author chooses between concrete phrasings without leaving the editor.
